Good Points: Camera MP3 Player Battery life Ear phone design Phone call quality Large screen

Bad Points: Jack of all trades, master of none

General comments: I have bought the Nokia N73 phone one year and a half after its release with the view that a year is plenty of time for initial teething problems to be resolved. My little bundle of communication has no faults that it is so often associated with. It is a fairly solid phone: it feels nice in the hand and perhaps a little heavy - but it's certainly no brick. Texting is easy, all the more simplified by that you add your addressee prior to sending. The sound quality of a phone call is pretty good, and absolutely fantastic in comparison to the Motorola phones I've owned. The battery life is better than of any phone I've owned. I tend to listen to music a fair bit on it, and I can go for 5 days without having to recharge. This is a fantastic jack of all trades phone. The camera is alright in comparison to a decent digital camera; in comparison to a phone camera it is fantastic. Many of my photos on facebook appear from this phone. The video, unfortunately, is still of similar quality to most phones - but better than most nonetheless. A big bonus for this phone is that it has such a large screen. This means that you can actually see what you're doing without poking your nose into the phone. I love that you don't have to scroll and rescroll to read a text message. The MP3 player is user friendly, and with a 2GB card I can store a heck of a lot of music. The ear phones are very comfortable. I've never owned a SE, so cannot compare, but the music quality is decent. One thing that annoys me is that if you wanted to switch to different ear phones - you can't, the ear phone socket is of specific design. But I like the ones supplied, so it's not a problem for me. Another annoyance is that the phone does not recognize MP3 format - you have to convert all the music you want on your mobile into the M4A format (which you can do with the software provided with the phone). This doesn't take too long, and it does mean that there's plenty of storage for other things on the phone, so not a great evil. The phone in itself is pretty simple and user friendly. It didn't take me very long to figure it out. If you were to sit down and play with it for half a day upon getting it (as people generally do to get over the initial excitement of getting a shiny new toy), you're sure to find it easy to use. The FM radio works great, however I use it very rarely seeing as all my favourite tracks are on the phone ready to be listened to. In fact, there are many features on this phone I have used rarely, if at all. However the ones I have used - I use regularly and I am happy with them. Summary: this phone is a good all rounder. The camera and MP3 player aren't the best on offer, but they're good enough to substitute the real thing. Battery life is surprisingly good for a phone with such a large screen. And to top it all off - you can use it to make phone calls too.

Ive had the Nokia N73 phone for a year now. Had the locking up problem in the first week just took it back to shop and had the firmware updated, no problems since. I like the MS VISTA style when browsing the gallery folders. The camera takes good sharp photos, the autofocus works well and also has a good range of shooting options. The image resolution is 300dpi which amazed me as I have a Sony 8mp compact camera and its resolution is a measly 75 dpi. With its built in stereo speakers playing music ...

I have had the n73 for 2 months now and just after 2 weeks from having it the phone turns itself off when its locked and when making or receiving calls, the phone also freezes or crashes when in camera mode, I have had many phones in the past and allot of them was a nokia but the last 2 nokia's I have had which was on the n series where rubbish and it has totally put me off from buying a nokia again.

All the negatives ive heard of for the N73 have happened to me, (though i've just fixed the main one) but i've also benefited from all the positives it has to offer, which is why I still really like this phone and I'm still using it after 15 months, I even gave my 12 month upgrade Sony Ericsson phone to my girlfriend because I preferred this one!

I now own my 4th Nokia N73. Not because they are so good that I have bought loads, but because THEY DON'T WORK! I spent £190 on my first one, which lasted a week before it switched off and never came back on. When I received calls on my second one, nobody could hear me. My third one took 2 mins to open a text message, froze in the middle of tasks, overheated when charges, you name it. My 4th is now continuing the trend of taking years to open a text message and the screensaver isn't c ...

I would recommend this phone to others but rather recommend other better ones. I like using this phone and playing music on it, I haven't had the phone for long but my dad has had it for ages and never had any problems with it.

On the face of it the N73 was the right the phone to choose when I was in the market. It wasn't the uber expense of something like the N95 and it wasn't an entry level or dated piece of technology. I feel like I am always going to be a Nokia user because you go with what you know in many respects when choosing replacement technology for your current piece! The phone, its good, quality Nokia build as with almost all their products I have owned. The major draw back with this phone's design is t ...

I've had this phone for a couple of months, having previously owned a Sony Ericsson K608i, and overall I am impressed with it. Although it can be slow to respond, I haven't experienced the wait times of 2-3 minutes mentioned in other reviews. The lack of automatic keypad lock is immensely frustrating, thank goodness I've got free web browsing on my tariff, although it has already cost me one unplanned download and the embarrassment of the music player going off at work in loudspeaker mode. Nokia ...

I've owned this for 2 months, it serves me well for the time being except for a few flaws here and there. However I have no issues with the texting, takes around 9 seconds to send and get a delivery report for the same. The camera is very good considering it's coming off a phone device. The flash isn't all that bad at nights either for portrait shots at least. The slow interface is truly not up the standards, no reason to really compare it with other brands in the segment. The 2 GB memory ca ...

When I first got my Nokia N73, I thought it was amazing. The camera is excellent, you can download good games for it & it just generally looks nice. However. I have now owned this phone for 9 months, halfway through a contract with 3. After about 5 months the speed of sending an ordinary text reduced dramatically. At the last timing, it took 3 minutes which in itself is not a long time but to send a text is ridiculous! At the same time as the phone is sending a text, you can do nothing else w ...

I've been using the Nokia N73 for six months after upgrading from a much older Nokia. I have to say the N73 has a lot of useful features, and the 3MP camera takes very good quality pictures for a phone. However the phone is SLOW. There is a delay of between 1 and 5 seconds on most key presses when navigating or entering menus, and can sometimes be up to about 10 seconds. In addition, it now takes my phone TWO MINUTES every time I send a text: As soon as I hit send the phone freezes. I think the ...

Ok first of all let me start by saying my phone 2 grades down from this beats this any day! For a start you cant change snooze???? It is in 5 minute intervals. There's no auto lock. It takes about a minute or more to send a text, its really really frustrating! Plays Nokia ringtone when it feels like it even tho ringtone is set to completely different one. Can't receive incoming calls when sending text as it just freezes the phone Rubbish memory (unless have a memory card) ...

This phone has been in for repair two times. The firmware has been updated twice - this has made no difference to the slow response times. The phone hangs while opening texts and is frustratingly slow when navigating through the menu. The first problem that occured was 2-3 mins time taken to send texts, screen freezing and turn offs. This was resolved following repair - apparently the problem was with the screen, but who knows! The phone continued to have slow response times and a recent failur ...
